    Interesting..I agree about the need for a bottom-up, not top-down pathway to innovation. Also, the notion that new ideas and their development need time and space away from the spotlight to germinate and grow in the field, and evolve through the organisation to the top…not the other way down.

    Isn’t it especially interesting in view of Geoff Mulgan’s role at No 10 all the way through a whole series of national roll outs of programmes in education? BSF will be interesting to watch because at the same time as it is a rallying call for transformation and innovation, it is based around managed services and large, long term projects with tight legal controls – so the tension between delivery and creativity will always be there.
